The Park Spark Project
In 2005, I saw my first home digesters in use. This digester belongs to Guy Roberts (see "people" section) who is a scientist and inventor that builds farm scale digesters for 100-1000 head of cattle. This one is just a small home digester that he feeds his food scraps and dog poo into.

From right to left - a vertical pipe to add biodegradable material (food scraps, etc.), - a long horizontal pipe where the methane is produced. In the middle of the horizontal pipe is a small bump and a metal pipe that comes out out of it, this is where the methane is collected and burned. Lastly, on the left is the exit for all the excess material that has no more potential to make methane.
